An opportunity came up to provide space planning for an existing warehouse, adapting it into a storage facility for over 2,000 heritage items. The proposed building offered 2,500 sqm, with 70% allocated for warehouse use and 30% for offices and support areas.

To maximise storage capacity, we proposed adding a mezzanine floor, increasing usable space by around 40%. The layout included designated zones for loading, quarantine, sorting, fire compartmentation, climate control, and racking—supporting safe storage, inspection, and handling processes. Cargo lifts, workstation points, and forklift routes were integrated for smooth operations. The ground floor was dedicated to heavy items, while the mezzanine level was designed for lighter objects such as artworks and smaller furniture.

The result was a safe, efficient, and well-organised storage environment—tailored to meet client needs, comply with industry standards, and ensure preservation of valuable items.
